Upcoming smartphones in 2023 - Hashtag Magazine

2022 was the year which saw a lot of smartphones launching from various brands, from midrange to flagships we saw some great smartphones launching in each category and price segment. The new year is almost here and for someone looking for a new smartphone to buy, it’s better to wait because there are a bunch of smartphones which will be launching in the first quarter of 2023. Aniket Pande from BlazeTechnica lists some of the smartphones which will be launching in the coming months.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung’s S series is one of the most awaited smartphone lineups and Samsung is expected to launch its latest Galaxy S23 series in February. This year as well Samsung will be coming up with three new models Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra. According to some leaked images, Design wise Galaxy S23 series will be looking very similar to the S22 series of phones but there will be a slight change in the camera layout of the S23 and S23+ as Samsung may remove the camera island opting for a cleaner look just like last year’s S22 Ultra. All three devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and some rumours indicate that there won’t be any Exynos variant this time. Galaxy S23 Ultra is also expected to sport a 200 MP primary camera this time and Samsung may bring the Satellite connectivity feature in the entire S23 series just like what we saw in the iPhone 14 series. The pricing of all these smartphones might be similar or slightly higher compared to the S22 series.

OnePlus 11 5G

OnePlus smartphones have always been a popular choice among tech enthusiasts and it is confirmed that their latest flagship of 2023, the OnePlus 11 5G will be launching on February 7th at an event in New Delhi. OnePlus 11 will be the successor of last year’s OnePlus 10 Pro, the name might be confusing since there is no mention of ‘Pro’ in the name but OnePlus might eventually launch another model OnePlus 11 Pro later this year. As per a few leaked images, design-wise the OnePlus 11 will be having a circular camera module at the back holding a triple camera setup – 50 MP primary, 48 MP Ultrawide and a 32 MP telephoto lens. Performance wise OnePlus 11 will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The display of the smartphone is expected to be Quad HD+ AMOLED with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Battery capacity is expected to be 5000 mAh along with support for 100W fast charging. We will get to know more about pricing and the rest of the specifications after the official launch.

Redmi Note 12 Pro Series

Xiaomi will be launching smartphones from its most popular Redmi Note lineup, the Redmi Note 12 Pro series in India on 5th January. Two smartphones will be launching in this series, Redmi Note 12 Pro and 12 Pro+. Both smartphones are almost identical in terms of specifications but the Pro+ comes with a 200 MP primary camera compared to 50 MP on the 12 Pro which will be seen for the first time in its price segment and a faster 120W fast charging compared to 67W on the 12 Pro. Both smartphones will be having a 6.67 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and will be powered by Mediatek Dimensity 1080 processor. The price of the higher-end Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is expected to start at Rs 24,999.

Vivo X90 Series

Recently Vivo launched its flagship X90 series of smartphones in China and it is expected to launch in India as well in January. There are three models in this series Vivo X90, X90 Pro and X90 Pro+. The X90 and X90 Pro will be powered by Mediatek Dimensity 9200 processor whereas the high-end Vivo X90 Pro+ will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. All three smartphones will be having an AMOLED display along with curved edges and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. In terms of cameras the X90 and X90 Pro come with a triple camera setup – a primary, telephoto and Ultrawide, the X90 Pro gets slightly better camera hardware compared to X90. The high-end X90 Pro+ gets the top of line camera hardware, a 50 MP primary camera (OIS), a 64 MP periscopic telephoto camera (3.5X with OIS), a 50 MP telephoto camera (2X with OIS) and a 48 MP ultrawide camera. All three models get the same 32 MP front camera for selfies. The pricing of these smartphones may start around Rs 50,000 for the X90 and would go up to Rs 80,000 for the X90 Pro+.

IQOO 11 5G

Vivo’s sub-brand IQOO will be launching its flagship smartphone IQOO 11 5G in India on 10th January. The smartphone will be packed with top-of-the-line specifications like a 6.78 inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a 144 Hz fast Refresh rate, IQOO smartphones are mainly targeted towards gaming experience and for achieving such peak performance in high-end games the IQOO 11 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor along with 5000 mAh battery and support for 120W Fast charging. When it comes to cameras the smartphone comes with a triple camera setup, a 50 MP primary, 13 MP Ultrawide and an 8 MP telephoto. Front facing camera is 16 MP. Pricing of the IQOO 11 5G is expected to be somewhere around 50-60,000 INR

Motorola X40

Motorola is also expected to launch its flagship Motorola X40 in India soon, the smartphone will be having a 6.7 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display but this time with an extremely fast refresh rate of 165 Hz. powering this smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Battery capacity is 4600 mAh along with support for 125W fast charging. When it comes to cameras the Motorola X40 comes with triple cameras, a 50 MP primary, a 50 MP Ultrawide sensor which comes with autofocus and a 12 MP telephoto. For selfies, the X40 comes with a 60 MP Front camera. The price of this smartphone may start at around Rs 50,000 in India.
