Kattradhu Thamizh is a Tamil-language psychological thriller movie directed by Ram, who marked his directorial debut. The movie revolves around a typical young Tamil postgrad student who becomes a tormented subject of Chennai’s urbanization. Spurred by the thriving IT sector, he gradually forfeits his mental equilibrium and becomes a psychopath. According to director Ram, the film seeks to investigate the consequences of a society which completely disregards the arts and humanities sectors. Although the picture was not an economic success at the time of its release, it developed a fan base later on. Jiiva was greatly lauded for his performance in the movie.
