This lockdown has made almost all of us mobile addicts and children are no different in this aspect. So if your child is spending too much time in front of screens—whether mobile, laptop or television, you’d better break the addiction now by these tips and tricks from Saba Ladha.
- Explain or talk the child’s way — Doesn’t matter if your child is a toddler or a grown up teenager. If you think that the screen time is exceeding, it’s time to finally have a parent to child talk. Be as elaborate as you can to let them understand the damages that it causes. It’s time to encourage them to check other options and activities. You don’t have to be very strict or rude, the more patiently and calmly you handle the matter, the better results are expected to unfold.
Whether it’s a simple board game or playing the Xbox-4 together, ensure to spend some quality time with your kid as keeping them preoccupied will reduce the time they spend on gadgets.
- Bring in their favourite activities to life — Was your child interested in painting before, or was it reading or sports? It’s time to bring the old days back. Get some new accessories to increase the excitement and renew the enthusiasm of practising those hobbies once again. Encourage them to be their own self again and they won’t even notice how rapidly they’ll be moving away from the gadgets.
- Make books their friends — They say, “Let your child play with books, they’ll learn knowledge in some way or another”! And yes, books are your best selfless friends when it comes to diverting your children’s minds from gadgets. They give you everything – from knowledge to maturity and morals!
